Free market think tank the Institute of Public Affairs has welcomed the call of the South Australian Liberal Party Room to block South Australia’s disastrous bank levy.

“This is a bad tax which should never see the light of day. Steven Marshall and the Liberals are right to block it,” said Daniel Wild, research fellow at the IPA.

“The Bank Levy will crush investment and job creation in South Australia. Steven Marshall deserves full credit for rejecting it.”

“The bank tax is an act of economic vandalism which will drive investment and jobs away from South Australia. Blocking the tax is the right thing for South Australians,” said Mr Wild.

IPA Senior Fellow Dr Chris Berg has written an opinion piece on the SA Bank Levy in today’s Adelaide Advertiser. Read it here.
