The fresh food people looking for a fresh start. Woolworths singing a different tune in 2025, confirming, “We will be celebrating Australia Day as a team, and with our customers.”

WoMan:

I think it’s a step in the right direction.

Man:

Just having a small amount will hopefully make everybody happy.

Georgia Holland:

Reversing last year’s decision to ditch Australia Day.

Channel Seven Presenter:

Deciding to dump its patriotic merchandise range.

Georgia Holland:

The move, blamed on declining demand, sparked months of turmoil, Parliamentary inquiries, a pricing probe, and the eventual resignation of the boss.

Brad Banducci:

I think I’m done, guys.

Dee Madgian:

They want this issue to go away.

Georgia Holland:

Coles will continue to stock a range of summer merch. Aldi is opting out of selling Australia Day items altogether. Georgia Holland, Seven News.
