Andy Poon is the Director of People and Corporate Services at the Institute of Public Affairs.
He joined the IPA in 2007. His previous roles include Client Services Manager, Marketing Manager, and Director of Finance and Administration. As the Director of People and Corporate Services, Andy focuses on corporate governance, human resources, managing the IPA’s internal controls and procedures, and has expertise in the principles governing tax-deductible gifts.
Through his varied roles, Andy has been involved in a number of areas within the IPA, including membership, events, fundraising, and finance. In 2013, he took part in a study tour with US think tanks based in Washington D.C., including the Heritage Foundation, American Enterprise Institute, Cato Institute, and the Atlas Economic Research Foundation.
Andy was drawn to the IPA upon completing his studies, after seeing the lack of diverse ideas being taught at university, and the bias towards a worldview that was different to his own. The IPA has allowed Andy to fully immerse himself into the concept of freethought, and the fundamental ideas of freedom and personal liberty.
He graduated from Monash University in 2006 and received a B.Bus in Marketing and a B.A. in Media and Communications.
