Paddy O’Leary is a Research Fellow at the IPA’s Centre for the Australian Way of Life.

Prior to joining the IPA, Paddy worked as a ringer on cattle stations in the Northern Territory and as a rugby union and rowing coach.

His research supports IPA publications concerning Australian history, culture, and values. Currently, Paddy is helping to write a book on the history of Australia which he hopes will demonstrate that Australia’s heritage is worth celebrating and defending.

Paddy holds a first-class honours degree in history from the University of Melbourne, has studied international relations at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and is currently pursuing a masters degree at the Australian National University.

Paddy is a mad sports fan, following rugby union, league, AFL, golf, and cricket.
