Dr John Abbot has a commitment to lifelong learning and is undertaking his second PhD as part of the IPA-University of Queensland Science, Law and Environment Research Program. John's first PhD was in chemistry from McGill University in Canada.  John also has Law Degrees and a Master of Biotechnology from the University of Queensland and an MBA from Deakin University. Most of his more than 100 research papers (in international peer-reviewed scientific journals) were published when he worked as a chemist in the petroleum, sugar, pulp and paper industries.
