James Bolt is the Digital Communications Manager for the Institute of Public Affairs.

James runs the IPA’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages, bringing the IPA’s message to people in ways not offered by traditional media.

James also writes and produces all of the IPA’s films with Saul Muscatel. He has a background in writing and performing, and is excited to be bringing this knowledge to the IPA. The videos they have created, on topics such as freedom of speech, Brexit and red tape, have been among the most shared content the IPA has ever produced.

James is part of the team that sends out Hey…What Did I Miss?, the IPA’s weekly newsletter, sending it out under his name every three weeks. He also writes for the IPA Review, in particular the Strange Times section. He also assists with events, membership, media and communications, and research.

James has previously served in the IPA as Communications Manager and a Researcher.

James joined the IPA as a part-time intern in 2012, and became a full time employee in 2014 at the completion of his university studies. James received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne, majoring in Politics and minoring in History.
